CAREABOUTKIDS

PARENTS: Divorce: Couples have to
work out their own arrangement for their particular family needs, with the realization that situations change over time. The husbands payments may taper off as the wife gains marketable skills and earns more money, or payments may increase to cover future expenses such as college costs. How you prepare your child will depend on your feelings and those of the other parents, the circumstances of the divorce, and the age of the child. MY WORD: Remember the child is only a victim of the marriage problem.

CAREABOUTKIDS

PARENTS: The development of a balanced, mature conscience and mind takes time and patience. As a child learns right from wrong and adopts values and ideals, the child becomes more aware of the effect of her actions on the child and others. Fantasies, daydreams, and imaginings help bring serenity and purpose into everyone's life. They also can be signs of unfulfilled needs and desires. They help people to be more creative as well as to endure hardship. They also help children bridge that cap between concrete experience and abstract thought. MY WORD It takes time and patience to develope a well balance child. Worth the effort.

CAREABOUTKIDS

PARENTS: One way a child grows beyond a self-centered world is by talking to other people. When this communication process begins to feed back information, what happens can be very exciting for a child. Your child wants to talk not only to parents and friends but also to people your child does not know. She wants to know people's names, where they live, and what they do. This is how children first learn about roles. MY WORD: It is important for children to be exposed to different people of different ages from different walks of life.
